Overview of alternating current (AC) Generators
Working principle:
In an AC generator, a permanent magnet is mounted on the rotor (moving) and the voltage generating coil is mounted on the stator (immobilized). The rotating magnet creates a rotating magnetic field around the coil on the stator which will generate a voltage according to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction.

In an AC generator, a permanent magnet is mounted on the rotor (moving) and the voltage generating coil is mounted on the stator (immobilized). The rotating magnet creates a rotating magnetic field around the coil on the stator which will generate a voltage according to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction.
AC generators are mainly 3-phase generators as shown above, with each phase separated by 120 degrees and sharing a common 0V line by a star connection.
So, if you want a phase of alternating current, then extract 1 phase from 3 phases of the generator.

The problem of converting kinetic energy into electricity of AC Generator: Is free energy at AC generator possible?
Verdict:
Everyone assumes that an AC generator converts kinetic energy into electrical energy. That's not true of Nikola Tesla's genuine AC generator. Explanation for the above statement:
The unit of energy is the joule, symbol J .
If you put 10(J) of energy into the rotor of an AC generator, and then the voltage generated is closed circuit by applying that voltage to the induction motor.
The kinetic energy generated by the induction motor will be less than or equal to 10(J). The ideal case is an induction motor that produces exactly 10(J) when the motor's efficiency reaches 100% and friction is ignored.

It happens because at the AC generator there is an electromagnetic field coming back from the coil generating the voltage on the stator to the magnet on the rotor. That returning electromagnetic field creates a force that resists the rotation of the magnet, abbreviated as BACK EMF, this force is called Lenz's force in AC generators.
In terms of the inner intuition of thinking, we see that:
- The force that resists the magnet (Lenz's force generated by the Back EMF) to rotate is related to the force generated in the induction motor
- The magnet at the generator has no freedom because it is bound by Back EMF
- Kinetic energy 1 of value X(J) feeds to an AC generator which then goes to an induction motor which generates kinetic energy of value Y(J), the process being passed something called "Electricity".

However, if we cancel or reduce the Lenz force in the AC generator, we will give the rotor freedom to rotate. And this is the origin of the true word "free energy". Then, the Rotating Magnet on the Rotor is freed before the Staor winding in the process of generating current.
Nikola Tesla did this, canceling Lenz's force in free-energy AC generators. Then, literally, the AC generator doesn't generate electricity, it's just a place to stir up the tension of the Ether, the energy that comes from the flow of the Ether during the stirring of the Ether by the rotating magnet.
